Students and Parents
Parents are actively encouraged to get involved in Belmont's Friends of Belmont Committee affectionately known as the FOB. All parents are asked to give as little or as much time as they have to help with the annual events and fundraisers which form an exciting part of our school calendar. Getting involved is an excellent way for parents to meet other parents, get to know the school staff and offer a valuable contribution towards their children's school experience.
Invitations are given to all new and current parents at the beginning of each school year to become a class representative. These persons act as the liaison for the FOB committee by asking for class support or volunteers for the various functions that come up through the school year. A new Chairperson, Secretary and a Treasurer are elected each year. On average there are another 12 committee members who after serving as class representatives have decided to get more involved by joining the committee.
Some of our annual events include the Winter Wonderland which is a true spectacle that the entire school enjoys. During the summer term an annual Summer Fun Day also proves to be a fabulous day out for the whole family. Most events raise funds for extras for the school or raises money for specific charities. The committee also supports the National Annual McMillan Coffee Morning and various other charitable events. This year we are having our third Summer Ball to raise money for the Special Care Baby Unit at Barnet General Hospital and the North London Hospice.
All FOB members agree that the camaraderie and community spirit that comes with getting involved at Belmont is very worthwhile.
