Activities
‘Activities’ is the name given to the extra-curricular clubs that are not part of the main timetabled curriculum. Belmont seeks to offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities through which pupils can develop their social, sporting and cultural abilities and interests. Children are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunities to foster their talents, try new skills and become an active member of the Belmont community. Whether pupils' interests lie in books, performing, arts, crafts, sport, music, languages etc. there is an activity for them to enjoy.
One week in the Summer Term is designated ‘Activity Week’ with its own timetable of activities. Activities Week is an opportunity for staff to introduce personal interests or hobbies to the pupils and is intended to give pupils an opportunity to experience new physical, mental and creative tasks. Years 3 - 5 remain in School and are placed into house groups of approximately 16-20. During Activities Week Y6 rehearse their annual play whilst Y7 and Y8 are away on Residential Trips.
