Recent Achievements
Belmont has a life of its own. No two days are the same and events in the community are constantly changing to reflect the ever-changing needs of the children. The wealth of diverse experience available to those who choose an education at Belmont challenges every child in every form. Opportunities are open to all and so children are able to achieve their maximum potential, academically, musically and on the sports field.
- Regular timetable of Cultural Evenings to reflect the 27 languages spoken amongst Belmont pupils.
- Almost half GCSE passes by ex-Belmont students were at A* or A and 84% were A*, A or B.
- Buddy System - each child allocated a buddy or buddy group with which to share certain activities.
- Children achieving high results in SATIPS National General Knowledge Competition and UK Maths Trust Challenge.
- Leadership Skills Course introduced for Years 5, 6, 7 & 8.
- Recycling Sub-Committee of children, which contributed to the school being awarded a Silver Eco-School Award.
- The Independent Schools Inspectorate Report concluded that Belmont is 'highly successful in achieving its aims'.
- Recent celebration of eleven years of successful co-education.
- Automatic transfer throughout the Mill Hill Foundation based on successful continuous assessment so delivering continuous education from 3 to 18.
- School Bus Service now operating in Muswell Hill, Hampstead, Hampstead Garden Suburb & Highgate, Winchmore Hill & Hadley Wood and Northwood.
- Reduced Y3 class size to ensure more individual attention.
- SATS results well above national average.
- Increased extra-curricula activities programme including Mandarin Chinese and Horse Riding.
- Extensive building works and renovation of original 1760's Mansion House.
- Extended overseas tours for Music Department and Sports Department, e.g. Choir trip to Paris, Barcelona, Cricket tour to Antigua, Music/Sport trip to South Africa.
- Introduction of girls' cricket.
- Updated communication systems, including a text messaging service.
