About Belmont

Pastoral Care

Belmont has an outstanding reputation for the high level of pastoral care of our pupils. Every child has a form tutor who looks after their welfare and is a first point of contact with the parents. We have a School Council with representatives from all year groups. In Year 8, all pupils are prefects and have responsibilities in the School. Children joining the school in Year 3 are given a 'buddy' in Year 6 who will help them settle into school routines. Pupils joining in Year 7 are allocated a 'buddy' from Year 8. Regular 'buddy meetings' and occasional 'buddy lunches' are held to facilitate the friendship.

Belmont is a Christian foundation based upon the principles of religious freedom. The School's pupils represent a wide range of faiths and cultures, so Chapel services and assemblies are inter-denominational and place a strong emphasis on moral and mutual respect.
